NEW YORK--()--McCourt Global (MG), an alternative asset management firm, today announced that Maribeth Carroll has been named Chief Human Resources Officer. Carroll will lead HR strategy across all MG operating units and businesses, with a focus on recruitment, corporate culture, talent development, compensation and benefits, and organizational structure. Carroll previously served as Global Head of Human Resources for the Institutional Client Business at BlackRock where she supported an international sales force of over 500 professionals.

"I could not be more excited about Maribeth joining the executive team at McCourt Global,” said Brent Taravella, Managing Director, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Operating Officer at MG. “Maribeth’s unique background, passion, and values are particularly well-suited for our organization which is focused on creating value while adhering to our core principles of taking the high road and a long view. I am confident that Maribeth will be a great partner and look forward to her adding value across all areas of our business."

“It’s a unique time to join McCourt Global,” said Maribeth Carroll. “As a nimble, entrepreneurial organization, the firm is well-positioned for growth, which is already in motion with recent acquisitions. It’s been clear from our earliest discussions that we’re aligned on values and that the senior team wants to invest in acquiring and developing the talent to achieve their growth plans across various businesses. All of these factors made this a compelling opportunity for me and I’m thrilled to be a part of the McCourt team today.”

Prior to BlackRock, Carroll served as Global Head of Human Resources for Acumen, an international non-profit working to alleviate poverty through a combination of leadership, philanthropy, and venture capital, and before that as Senior Vice President and Global Head of Corporate and Finance Human Resources at Guy Carpenter, a unit of Marsh & McLennan Companies. Previously, Carroll spent ten years at Morgan Stanley where she rose from the role of recruitment manager for finance and operations to Executive Director for Investment Management Human Resources.

Beyond her professional activities, Carroll is deeply involved in numerous charitable initiatives. She serves on the Board of Directors with Global Camps Africa, an organization supporting vulnerable children in South Africa, and is a long-time sponsor with Women for Women International, an organization providing women survivors of war, civil strife, and other conflicts with a path to safety and self-sufficiency.

Carroll is a graduate of the University of Maryland where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism.
