BOSTON--()--The Publicity Club of New England, the region’s largest association for communications professionals, today announced that the call for entries for its 49th annual Bell Ringer Awards (Bells) is now open. Public relations and communications professionals who are based in New England or manage communications for New England-based companies are encouraged to submit original work to the competition for a chance to earn recognition and be showcased at the Bells awards show.

This year’s Bell Ringer Awards show takes place June 1, 2017, at The Revere Hotel’s Liberty Hall (formerly known as Space 57) in Boston. The event will feature a seated dinner, shared insights from winning campaigns and judges, and a VIP pre-reception and post-awards after-party. This year’s show will also include a new visual representation of the work through video, showcasing our winners’ stories and successes.

With nearly 50 categories up for grabs – many of which debuted just last year – this year’s Bells present even greater opportunities to promote and celebrate New England’s best PR and marketing campaigns. The Publicity Club seeks fresh, head-turning PR and marketing projects, programs, and campaigns that have not only impressed clients but also generated remarkable results. Our judges, who represent a wide range of communications and marketing roles and industries, come from agencies, media organizations, corporations, and nonprofits. Their collective experiences and successes represent the best of the industry and make them uniquely qualified to judge the awards.

“This year, we are thrilled to bring the Bells to Liberty Hall and offer a new, family-style service for dinner that will bring everyone together to celebrate New England’s best and brightest in PR and marketing,” said Cheryl Gale, president of the Publicity Club of New England and managing partner and co-founder of March Communications. “We look forward to the event in June and hope to continue to push the creative boundaries of our awards show – and the PR industry.”

Some of the exciting and newer award categories for the Bells include:

  • Guerrilla Marketing
  • Brand Building or Re-Branding Campaign
  • Digital Video
  • Corporate or Agency Podcast
  • Superior Achievement in Research and Planning
  • “On a Shoestring” Campaign

PR and communications professionals can submit their Bells entries using an online submission form. Criteria and instructions are available here. Entries must represent work completed between Jan. 1, 2016 - March 8, 2017.

The early-bird submission period, which is open through Feb. 3, 2017, and provides discounted pricing of entries, is now a Publicity Club members-only benefit. To qualify for early-bird pricing, members must sign up or renew memberships here.

The regular deadline for entries is March 1, 2017, at 5 p.m. ET. Late entries will be accepted until March 8, 2017, for an additional $100 late fee.
