BIRMINGHAM, Ala.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--DirectPath, the industry leader in employee health care engagement and compliance, today announced that it has been selected to join the Department of Defense’s Military Spouse Employment Partnership (MSEP) program, which connects military spouses with partner employers worldwide. As an employment partner in the program, DirectPath is making a commitment to recruiting and hiring skilled military spouses for its current and future career opportunities. This includes the position of benefits educator, which offers the geographic and schedule flexibility that many employed military spouses require.
“Being a military spouse is one of the toughest jobs in the military. On top of this, finding a source of income while facing frequent geographical relocation and a fluctuating schedule can be a real source of stress for families located at bases across the country,” said Bart Yancey, CEO of DirectPath. “At DirectPath, we are proud to be a new member of the Department of Defense’s Military Spouse Employment Partnership program so we can support the families of those who are serving our country, while tapping into the talent we need to help grow our business.”
Since it was founded in 2011, the MSEP has facilitated the posting of more than five million jobs in its career portal. More than 300 partner employers from a cross-section of industries have hired 95,000 military spouses. Partners, which include corporations, businesses and military serving organizations, post job openings on the MSEP portal and provide programs focused on supporting military spouses’ educational and career goals.
“Having a career is often one of the many things that military spouses sacrifice when supporting their loved one’s call to serve. Frequent relocations, deployments and the demands of active duty garrison life are barriers to employment that can seem unreachable,” said Molly Vester, senior consultant, client services for DirectPath. “As a former military spouse myself, I am familiar with these challenges. I am proud to work at DirectPath, a company that I am confident will support and nurture military spouses as they embark on their careers here. I look forward to welcoming military spouses as colleagues here at DirectPath.”
