SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Visualant, Inc. (OTCQB: VSUL) – a provider of chromatic-based identification, authentication and diagnostic solutions, with its ChromaID™ technology, announced today that it has successfully identified gluten-free flour in blind testing of multiple flour samples.
Increasingly consumers are concerned about the presence of gluten and other potential allergens in food products. Gluten is the general name for a protein found in wheat, rye and barley. While a small percentage of the population have celiac disease, a serious auto-immune disease, and cannot eat gluten, many people report a sensitivity to gluten.
“The ability to identify common allergens, including gluten, represents a potentially significant application of our patented ChromaID technology. We continue to work in our lab and with potential customers to develop specific applications for our technology. Our laboratory results are further evidence of the capacity of our ChromaID technology to identify and authenticate substances and materials,” said Visualant CEO, President and Founder, Ron Erickson. “We continue to work to explore the broad range of applications for ChromaID.”
