ADDING MULTIMEDIA Metrocare Services and Pieces Technologies Partner on Solution for Improved Physical and Behavioral Health Care

Innovative approach a game changer for behavioral health

DALLAS--()--Metrocare Services and Pieces Technologies are partnering to support more thoughtful, comprehensive whole person care by bringing together unique predictive analytics and behavioral health for the first time.

“For years there’s been a roadblock preventing doctors from getting a complete view of their patient,” said Dr. John Burruss, CEO of Metrocare Services, the largest public provider of behavioral health services in Texas. “We’ve found the solution through the power of the Pieces Technologies software platform.”

Metrocare’s software development division, XenatiX, is designing an integrated solution for both primary care and behavioral health. When paired with the predictive analytics engine from Pieces Technologies, the solution becomes a revolutionary leap forward in enriching the information available to support clinical decision making.

By using these technologies, healthcare providers can tailor treatment and clinical interventions around the unique combination of a patient’s physical and mental health conditions. Whether a patient has a heart condition or is experiencing depression, the integrated software solution will provide guidance for personalized treatment recommendations.

“The ground-breaking analytics that Pieces Technologies brings to the relationship will mean that people working to overcome schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and other major behavioral health challenges can enjoy the same advances that have already helped patients battling heart failure, lung disease, diabetes and other chronic conditions live longer, richer lives,” said Dr. Burruss.

“We believe this partnership will significantly advance healthcare – particularly as it relates to behavioral health,” said Dr. Ruben Amarasingham, President and CEO of Pieces Technologies. “The technology we are integrating will allow physicians, nurses and patients to bring together all aspects of an individual’s needs into a combined behavioral health, clinical and social services care plan.”

For example, doctors using the platform will be able to pare down a list of potential drugs to a select few, taking into account factors like current prescriptions, medical history, demographics, social determinants of health, and the severity of health issues a patient may have.

“Because 90 percent of the world’s data has been created in just the past two years,” said Dr. Burruss, “predictive analytics software is essential to digest all the data available today and add intelligence at scale to the behavioral healthcare industry.”
