WESTMINSTER, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Brother Mobile Solutions, Inc. (BMS), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Brother International Corporation and premier provider of mobile solutions, announces the introduction of the P-touch® PT-P900 Series industrial label printer, a new addition to Brother’s popular family of industrial label printers. This compact desktop series is engineered for the speed, mobile specs and design versatility required in manufacturing, industrial, datacom and cable labeling applications - and uniquely serves harsh environments and other industries in which demand for fast, durable, professional quality labeling is growing.
Available in Wi-Fi and network versions, this high-performance desktop series comes equipped with the acclaimed P-touch® Editor label design software, prints wider labels, up to 36mm, and free Brother apps and SDKs to help integrate the high-resolution thermal transfer plus lamination printing process into existing technology platforms and devices, including iOS and Android smartphones and tablets.
Ravi Panjwani, vice president marketing and product management for Brother Mobile states: “The PT-P900 Series is our most robust P-touch industrial label printing solution to date. Ready to use right out of the box, the printers have a compact footprint and can generate and print a virtually unlimited array of high-quality, durable labels needed in a broad range of industries.”
The proprietary Brother tape technology means it laminates the labels simultaneously—in a single step—something none of our competitors can match. That’s one reason why we describe the new series as “A Complete Label Printing Solution.”
“We’ve also taken the desktop printer concept one step further by enabling its use in truly mobile environments via the inclusion of battery power and Wi-Fi or Bluetooth communication options.”
Specific labeling applications well suited for the new Brother P-touch PT-P900 Series include:
- Manufacturing: Labeling of machinery, components, tool cribs, storage bins and more in chemical, electrical and electronics, machine building, automotive, transportation, and industrial equipment industries
- Telecommunications and Data Communications (Voice/Data): Identification labeling of cables and wires, cabinets, racks, and other infrastructure connectivity components in data centers, enterprise networks, outside plant, security, and audio/video installations
- Healthcare: Safety and compliance labels, identification labels for specimens and samples, electronic assets, storage bins, shelves and more
Brother P-touch PT-900 Series: Ready to Go Right Out-of-the-Box
The new Brother PT-900 Series includes two models: the PT-P900W and PT-P950NW. Each model offers a complete on-demand print and laminate label printing solution for applications requiring labels with premier print quality, superior surface finish, and extreme durability to withstand fading, peeling and abrasion, as well as the damaging effects of moisture and harsh environmental conditions.
At 360 dpi, both models offer high-speed printing of fully defined characters down to 2-point font size. In addition, both models come with a larger print head and prints up to 32mm high on 36mm wide tape. The printers feature a built-in automatic cutter that trims a continuous tape to virtually any length, one label at a time or as a strip of pre-cut labels.
Both models also come with a suite of full versions of Windows®, Mac®, iOS® and Android™ software applications that other printer brands charge separately or bundle “starter” versions. P-touch Editor label design and printing software application can link and print laminated labels using data from a Microsoft® SQL Server®, Access®, Excel® or CSV files through the USB or the built-in Wi-Fi® WLAN interface for either model; or the Ethernet LAN network or optional Bluetooth wireless interface for the PT-P950NW.
Brother’s comprehensive selection of UL-certified tapes come in an easy to load, drop-in cartridge that contains all the necessary components to print a laminated label in a single pass, using an innovative laminating thermal transfer technology. A range of optional accessories are available for both models to accommodate current needs and future requirements.
