PALO ALTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Avenidas Village, a membership-driven senior organization in Palo Alto that brings services and amenities to Older Adults in their homes, has partnered with 24Hr HomeCare to enhance senior mobility through the use of Uber’s ridesharing technology.
The innovative partnership between Avenidas Village and 24Hr HomeCare makes on-demand and affordable transportation accessible to older adults, as no app, smartphone, or internet connectivity is required by riders. Riders can now call a live 24Hr HomeCare representative at any time of the day to book a ride. 24Hr HomeCare will coordinate the logistics and communicate with the rider and Uber driver regarding pick up information. The collaboration with 24Hr HomeCare ensures a transportation alternative for Avenidas Village members with urgent, or short-notice, transportation needs.
24Hr HomeCare has partnered with Uber to leverage technology to provide multiple rides simultaneously. Riders can opt for uberASSIST, which has Uber driver-partners that are specifically trained by the Open Doors Organization to assist riders from the senior and disabled community into vehicles and accommodate folding wheelchairs, walkers, and scooters.
