SACRAMENTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Surgical Affiliates Management Group, a leading surgical hospitalist company, announced today that it has appointed Pamela Mehta, MD, to the newly created position of Chief of Orthopedic Surgery. In her new role, Dr. Mehta will lead the company’s orthopedic service line.

Dr. Mehta, who specializes in orthopedic surgery, was most recently in private practice at Northern California Orthopaedic Associates, located in Sacramento. Prior to that, she served in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at two Kaiser Permanente facilities, Roseville in Northern California and South Bay Medical Center in Southern California, where she began her career.
Graduating with honors, Dr. Mehta earned a dual degree from the University of Southern California (USC) and also earned her Doctorate of Medicine at USC’s Keck School of Medicine where she was recognized for outstanding service and leadership with the Order of Areté. She completed her residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Columbia University/New York Orthopaedic Hospital. Dr. Mehta is a board certified Orthopaedic surgeon with medical licensure in California and New York.
