Small businesses and sellers on Amazon get ready for Prime Day 2016.

SEATTLE--()--Today, Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN) announced that thousands of small businesses selling on Amazon will be participating in the second annual Prime Day on Tuesday, July 12. Prime Day deals from sellers and small businesses worldwide grew by more than 100 percent year-over-year. Sellers and entrepreneurs will offer thousands of deals worldwide on unique items from electronics to toys, household goods, and apparel. In the U.S., the number of sellers taking part in Prime Day grew by more than 100 percent year-over-year and the number of deals from small businesses, brand owners, and entrepreneurs in the U.S. grew by more than 100 percent year-over-year.

Last Prime Day, Prime members purchased more than 14 million items from sellers and small businesses. This year for Prime Day 2016, more than 30 percent of Lightning Deals globally will be from sellers. The total number of Prime Day deals from sellers increased across all Prime-eligible countries and the number of small businesses and sellers worldwide participating in Prime Day increased more than 100 percent year-over-year.
