NAPA, Calif.--()--Jarvis Estate Winery in Napa, CA is pleased to announce the promotion of Deanna Martinez from CFO & COO to the position of General Manager. In addition, we are pleased to welcome Scott Morrison as our new Winemaker.

Deanna was the first employee at Jarvis when she joined in 1987 and was instrumental in the founding of the winery. As the General Manager Deanna will oversee all day to day operations of the winery and continue to be involved in multiple facets of the business. During her tenure here she has worked hard to foster the production of truly exceptional and highly respected wines. Deanna was an accountant by training and began her career at Jarvis as a consultant before being hired as Director of Operations and then being promoted to CFO & COO.

Deanna was also an integral part of establishing and launching the nonprofit Jarvis Conservatory located in downtown Napa, which opened within a week of the winery in 1995. Since then she has simultaneously held positions at the Jarvis Winery and Jarvis Conservatory.

“Working in a smaller company, rather than a large corporation, has provided me a tremendous opportunity to be involved in all facets of the winery business, from small to large projects. This cross-training experience has allowed me to learn and understand the business as a whole, which keeps things fun at Jarvis.”

Deanna was born into a large family of five children in Iowa, and moved to California as a young girl where she was raised on the Peninsula of the San Francisco Bay Area. Deanna and her husband live in Napa with their twins, a son and a daughter.

Jarvis is also pleased to welcome Scott Morrison as the new Winemaker at Jarvis Estate. Scott has spent more than a decade making world class wines following his graduation from UC Davis where he studied Viticulture and Enology. At Jarvis, Scott is a hands-on Winemaker where he continues the rich traditions and signature style of wines established by Dimitri Tchelistcheff, Jarvis Winemaker Emeritus.

Scott worked multiple harvest internships, including South Pacific Cellars in New Zealand, before assuming the role of Lab Supervisor at The Hess Collection Winery. He later transitioned to Assistant Winemaker at the esteemed Paul Hobbs Winery where he was ultimately promoted to Head Winemaker at Crossbarn, by Paul Hobbs. At this point, feeling the need to transition back to Napa Valley, Scott became the Head Winemaker, and later General Manager, for William Harrison Vineyards and Winery. Scott now draws upon his diverse experiences at small ultra-premium wineries in his role as Winemaker at Jarvis Estate.

The fourth of five children, Scott was raised in the small town of Carmichael, California. Scott lives in Napa with his wife and young child.
