Churchill Mortgage Hosts Free Homebuyer Workshop as Part of Goodwill Week

BRENTWOOD, Tenn.--()--In recognition of Goodwill Week 2016 (May 2-6), which celebrates Goodwill’s mission of changing lives through education, training and employment, Churchill Mortgage announced that it is hosting a Homebuyer Workshop on May 4 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. CT at the Goodwill Career Solutions center, located at 937 Herman Street in Nashville.

Led by Goodwill Industries of Middle Tennessee at its 28 Career Solutions Centers across the state, Goodwill Week features job fairs with hundreds of local and national employers and provide attendees with education and training opportunities, one-on-one mock interviews, body language workshops, assistance with developing resumes and cover letters, completing job applications and more.

Designed to educate borrowers and provide gainful insight into the end-to-end home buying process, Churchill’s Homebuyer Workshops include budgeting tips for home financing, steps to complete a mortgage application, tips for selecting the right loan program and locking in an interest rate, as well as key mistakes to avoid when shopping for a home. During the workshop, Churchill will also provide the opportunity to meet with a local home loan specialist, Realtor® expert, home appraiser, inspector and insurance agent.

"We strive to educate our clients and empower them to reach their goals. Many of them dream of one day owning a home, and home ownership can be a stepping stone to an improved financial future," said George Carlson, director of Career Centers at Goodwill. "This workshop with Churchill Mortgage will help clients begin planning and working toward this goal."

“Last year, Goodwill Week helped more than 36,000 people in Middle and West Tennessee, helping more than 15,400 individuals find jobs,” said Mike Hardwick, president of Churchill Mortgage. “This is demonstrative of an incredible dedication to our local communities and is something that we believe aligns closely with our mission to empower individuals through education. By simplifying the home buying process, our Homebuyer Workshops provide a path for individuals to pursue and achieve the American dream of debt-free homeownership.”
