The Diamond Doctor to Develop New State-of-the-Art Diamond Cutting Facility

Joins with Southwest Diamond Cutters to Better Serve Retail and Wholesale Clients

DALLAS--()--The Diamond Doctor, a prominent and well-respected jewelry wholesaler and retailer in Dallas, is joining with Southwest Diamond Cutters, founded by a fifth-generation master diamond cutter, to establish a new state-of-the-art diamond cutting facility that will serve retail and wholesale clients across the U.S.

Located in Farmers Branch at 31711 Omega Road, the facility will house 14 diamond cutters and support staff. Employees are slated to move into the facility in mid-2016, following the completion of building renovations.

“I have always believed that being a vertically integrated diamond business ultimately benefits the consumer,” said David Blank, owner of The Diamond Doctor. “This new venture will allow us to manage the diamond cutting process, minimizing third-party costs. Ultimately, the consumer will benefit by being able to buy high-quality, lower-priced products.”

Cutters at the new facility will produce polished diamonds from rough cutting as well as from older diamonds that need refurbishing and recutting to meet modern styles.

Once cut, each of the diamonds will be certified by independent, third-party laboratories in the U.S. The diamonds will be sold through The Diamond Doctor retail store on Preston Road as well as through Blank’s wholesale diamond business, which sells loose diamonds to the jewelry trade.

Dallas-based Southwest Diamond Cutters was founded in 1993 by Ashley van Creveld, a fifth generation master diamond cutter. The company is comprised of a team of exceptionally skilled craftsmen utilizing state-of-the-art technology, providing the highest level of diamond cutting and refurbishing services to wholesalers, retailers, and consumers.

“Southwest is recognized as one of the top diamond cutters in the nation. They have provided high-quality stone cutting and repairs for our business and our customers for many years,” said Blank. “That relationship grew into a collaboration to serve a wider audience, and now we see an opportunity to create a new, technologically advanced facility that can produce a higher volume of the best-quality stones.”

Ashley van Creveld, owner of Southwest Diamond Cutters, said, “We are excited to join with David Blank, who has an outstanding reputation in the industry, to expand our services nationwide. This is a great opportunity for us to better serve the industry and represents an important addition to the local business community.”

Blank, who moved to Dallas in 1996 from his native South Africa, founded a wholesale diamond company in 2002 before opening his retail business, The Diamond Doctor, to sell diamonds at wholesale prices to individuals in 2003. He has developed an outstanding reputation among customers for honesty, fairness and community service throughout Dallas/Fort Worth.

The Diamond Doctor sells only the highest quality diamond jewelry at a fair and competitive price. All customers are offered a 25-day money back guarantee or a lifetime trade-in for a diamond of equal value. Each customer is important to The Diamond Doctor. Blank’s doors are always open every day, as he considers it crucial to remaining connected to his customer base. The retail location is at 8127 Preston Rd, Dallas, TX 75225.
