DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Prescient, a Colorado-based software design, structural system manufacturing and installation company, will more than double its footprint when it opens its third facility in the Greater Denver area -- a 120,000 square foot manufacturing facility with 10 acres of outdoor storage at 14401 West 65th Way in Arvada next month.
Prescient provides the architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) industry with an innovative design platform that offers a faster, greener and more cost-effective alternative to conventional building structures. The system, which now boasts eight patents and 62 on file internationally is making significant inroads in the multi-unit building segment, including apartments, student housing, senior living and hotels. The company has numerous projects completed or underway throughout the country, including upcoming buildings in Illinois, Florida, Texas, Nebraska, Kansas and the Carolinas. More than 60 percent of Prescient’s 2016 projects will be exported to states outside of its Colorado home.
With nearly 3 million square feet of orders under contract and an additional 4.2 million square feet in order backlogs, Prescient is increasing its manufacturing capacity to 5 million square feet annually with the new facility -- the equivalent of building 50 new Hyatt House hotels. This is more than a four-fold increase from the 1.2 million square feet manufactured this year from their two existing facilities in Denver. The company’s Denver employment has grown from three people in 2012 to nearly 200 today with more hiring planned for 2016. Additionally, the company helps create an incremental 150 jobs through sub-contractors at any given time working on Prescient projects in Colorado alone.
“First and foremost, we’re a technology company with a digital thread that weaves its way through our entire platform from concept to commercialization,” said Satyen Patel, Prescient’s executive chairman and CEO. “We are part software product company, part state-of-the-art computer aided design and robotic manufacturing company, and part custom installation firm. These elements come together seamlessly to allow the AEC industry to minimize risk, lower their costs and dramatically reduce overall time to market,” he added.
Prescient will hold a Grand Opening Celebration of the new facility in January 2016. Additionally, the company is set to open two expansion plants next year, one in the southeastern U.S. during the first quarter, and a Texas facility late in the year. The exact location of the plants is still being finalized. Each new plant will employ approximately 150 people.
Prescient is a software design, structural system manufacturing and installation company with an innovative design platform that offers a faster, greener and more cost-effective alternative to conventional building structures. Prescient’s primary market segment is multi-unit buildings, including apartments, student housing, senior living and hotels. The Prescient platform is:
- Durable: it will not rot, warp, shrink, split, crack or creep and is resistant to moisture and insect infestation.
- Lightweight: it is easy to handle and is straight, uniform and consistent in quality.
- Strong: cold formed steel has the highest strength-to-weight ratio of any building material, so Prescient meets the highest seismic and wind load specifications with allowable stress values ranging from 21,000 to 33,000 pounds per square inch.
- Fire Resistant: the Prescient system is non-combustible, does not burn or contribute fuel to the spread of a fire and may help secure lower insurance rates.
