ShipHawk Hires Two New Key Executives for Product and Engineering

Management Team Expands to Include Koreen Pagano, VP Product, and George Chapman, VP Engineering

SANTA BARBARA, Calif.--()--ShipHawk, a shipping intelligence provider for retailers, announced today the appointment of Koreen Pagano as Vice President of Product and George Chapman as Vice President of Engineering. Ms. Pagano and Mr. Chapman join the ShipHawk team as the company continues to expand its footprint in the United States and transform the retail shipping experience.

ShipHawk is changing the way retailers manage both the approach and the economics of product fulfillment. The company’s shipping intelligence platform provides access to the best carrier pricing, logistics automation, and complete visibility throughout the entire fulfillment process. Furthermore, the platform arms retailers with critical cost data, giving them the ability to better manage margins and make merchandising decisions.

“Retailers are becoming more sophisticated about their shipping needs and looking for solutions that can solve complex problems,” said Jeremy Bodenhamer, CEO of ShipHawk. “By bringing on high caliber executives like Koreen and George, we are establishing a strong foundation of technical leadership to solve customer problems.”

Koreen Pagano, in her role as VP of Product, will oversee all aspects of ShipHawk’s product lifecycles, from identifying new market opportunities to leading the development, execution, release, and evolution of the next generation of ShipHawk’s market-leading products.

She joins the company with years of experience using technology to promote organizational change, most recently having grown Lynda.com as Director of Enterprise Product. Koreen began her career in business automation and supply chain management and founded Tandem Learning, a company promoting immersive learning in organizations by leveraging emerging technologies, which was acquired in 2011. This experience will help her provide leadership, management, recruitment, and training for team members to further ShipHawk’s business goals.

“I was as impressed with the way ShipHawk tackles huge shipping challenges as I was with their expertise and passion,” said Pagano. “I’m thrilled to be part of a team that is revolutionizing how businesses view logistics. ShipHawk’s products solve any organization's shipping needs in the simplest, most cost-effective manner and answer a crucial question for retailers: ‘How do I streamline product delivery to my customers?’”

As VP of Engineering, George Chapman will direct ShipHawk’s development of the platform, including product design direction and testing quality assurance for all of ShipHawk’s products. Chapman will provide technical direction and guidance, as well as hands-on project management, for all product development, ensure optimal engineering resource allocation to support ShipHawk’s business goals, and map long-term objectives for the entire engineering department.

George joins ShipHawk following his role as CTO of Digifit, where he built a mobile health experience design platform, and as Senior Director of Engineering at j2 Global Communications, where he oversaw localization strategy, eCommerce infrastructure, brand management development, agile processes, and team growth. Previously, George founded a distance learning framework that was acquired by Bowne, Inc.

“What impresses me about ShipHawk is its singular focus on improving the shopping cart experience, which removes any friction and uncertainty during a customer’s purchasing process,” said Chapman. “ShipHawk is in a unique position to transform the industry with its creative innovations in its automated packing algorithms, concurrent rating requests, routing and delivery alternatives, and other product elements.”
