NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Hasbro, Inc. (NASDAQ:HAS) rolled out the ‘purple carpet’ in celebration of the world premiere of “My Little Pony Equestria Girls Friendship Games,” a Hasbro Studios full-length animated feature film and the third installment in the beloved MY LITTLE PONY EQUESTRIA GIRLS franchise. Sarah Michelle Gellar, Nick Cannon, Padma Lakshmi, Jim Gaffigan, Tiki Barber, Nigel Barker, Drea de Matteo, and Tracy Anderson were among the celebrities whose famous families joined the premiere screening event Thursday at the Angelika Film Center in New York City. The film will exclusively premiere on television on Saturday, September 26 at 8/7c on Discovery Family Channel (U.S.).
In conjunction with the film debut, Hasbro Studios and Sony Music/Legacy Recordings today announced the global digital release of the accompanying “My Little Pony Equestria Girls Friendship Games” soundtrack. The album features ten original songs from the movie and the same award winning songwriters and voice talent as the “My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic” animated series. In the latest animated adventure, which marks the third installment in the MY LITTLE PONY EQUESTRIA GIRLS franchise, THE FRIENDSHIP GAMES brings CANTERLOT HIGH, home to the magical MY LITTLE PONY EQUESTRA GIRLS, and its rival school CRYSTAL PREP ACADEMY together in a series of school spirit, academic, and sporting events to determine which school will reign supreme.
The movie will be released in stores on DVD and Blu-ray from Shout! Factory Kids, and available for digital download on iTunes, Google Play, and Amazon on October 13.
