VICTORIA, British Columbia & MANCHESTER, New Hampshire--()--Metro Vancouver in British Columbia is the latest North American local government to name Unit4 as its Financial Management System software provider of choice. Unit4, a fast growing leader in enterprise applications for service organizations, was chosen to provide its market leading Business World ERP solution to help Metro Vancouver achieve its goals of streamlined processes and increased automation to better serve Greater Vancouver citizens.

“Like many local governments, Metro Vancouver is constantly seeking improvements in its processes and to better the quality of information provided to its stakeholders,” says Phil Trotzuk, CFO, Metro Vancouver. “We are very excited about the functionality and flexibility that Unit 4 Business World will bring to our financial operations and the efficiencies that will be realized.”

Implementing Business World will enable Metro Vancouver to streamline and automate many functions, while providing an environment that can be configured in-house as business realities change. By eliminating many manual tasks, Metro Vancouver staff can concentrate on higher level work with the confidence that procurement, approvals and reporting are straightforward activities based on sound data.

Metro Vancouver is the regional government for 21 municipalities, one Treaty First Nation and one electoral area. With a population of over 2,400,000 people, it handles a budget of $600,000,000. Unit4 participated in a rigorous RFP and selection process, and was chosen to replace a legacy system that had been in place for over 15 years.

“We are honoured to be chosen, but also very proud to have withstood such thorough scrutiny,” says Scott Kamieneski, SVP and Managing Director of Unit4, North America. “Metro Vancouver is the third largest metropolitan region in Canada, so its enterprise needs are demanding and always changing. Business World’s People Platform will enable user-driven flexibility and reliable reporting.”

Unit4’s success in the public sector has been recognized globally, with customers that include the Cities of Surrey, Kelowna, Langley and Medicine Hat, Resort Municipality of Whistler, City of Stockholm, British House of Commons and many others. Unit4 works with more than 1,500 government customers globally.
