Electrik Beach Introduces 3-D Body Scanning System to Measure Diet and Exercise Success

MONROE, Mich.--()--Trying to get in shape? A local spa owner says you’ve got a powerful new tool at your disposal: 3D full body scanning.

People trying to shed inches from waists, thighs, and other body parts usually do weekly or monthly battle with tape measures to get an approximate measure of their progress. It’s a cumbersome process – and not especially accurate.

Enter modern technology. The MyBodee touchless 3D body scanning system uses a Microsoft-powered 3D camera in tandem with advanced rendering software and cloud computing technology to quickly capture, analyze, and report the precise dimensions of any and all body parts. The system can then conduct a thorough analysis and automatically send customized email reports to a client, and track progress over time.

Practitioners and users laud the technology’s advantages over traditional tape measurement approaches. The MyBodee system’s manufacturer cites a 70 percent accuracy improvement over even measurements taken by experienced professionals. Users appreciate the touchless measurement process, as well as the speed of the system: A full body scan, measuring waist, thighs, hips, arms and more takes only about thirty seconds.

“We all know that technology is changing everything – and that’s especially true in the health and fitness field,” says Adrianne Asmar, CEO of Electrik Beach in Southeast Michigan. “We’ve seen new ways to manage diets and exercise. Now there’s a technology tool to analyze the results you’re getting.

“Whether you’re trying to drop inches for a diet program or bulk up for a football team, you need to know if your efforts are effective for specific parts of your body. This is the first electronic system that can deliver that.”

3D body scanning has recently become a popular service in European spas and fitness centers, as well as on the east and west coasts and in select southern locations. Arrival of the MyBodee system marks the technology’s first inroads in the Midwestern market. Currently in Michigan, the MyBodee system is exclusively available at Electrik Beach locations.

“People work awfully hard to look and feel better,” Asmar says. “The MyBodee system lets them really track their results, put their efforts where they’re needed, and get immediate feedback on what’s working and what doesn’t. This makes sure that their efforts count.”
