WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ColorComm, Inc., an institution dedicated to advancing the visibility of women of color in communications, recently held its second annual conference at the Ritz Carlton, Key Biscayne in Miami, Florida. Prudential Financial, Inc. served as the presenting sponsor of the annual business retreat, which connected more than 300 executive marketing and communications business leaders from across the country. Women’s activist Gloria Steinem and CNN’s Lisa Ling both served as keynote speakers.
The conference, commonly referred to as #C2Miami, is the only such event of its kind and opened with the ColorComm Circle Awards, the highest honor awarded to women changing the face of the communications industry. A select group of honorees included: Marvet Britto, President/CEO, The Britto Agency; Christy Haubegger, Executive, Creative Artists Agency and founder of Latina magazine; Tiffany Smith-Anoa’i, Senior Vice President, CBS Entertainment; and several more.

Key highlights of the conference included the dinner and discussion themed “What Inspires You?” hosted by Prudential and part of the firm's #womeninspired campaign, which lauched earlier this year to engage more women in a dialogue that uncovers their motivations for financial and professional achievement. Several hundred women had the opportunity to share meaningful stories about what keeps them centered and grounded in their daily professional lives. Wealth-building and financial management sessions presented by Prudential turned into standing-room only gatherings.
