GARDENA, Calif.--()--Finally, a cup of noodles you can microwave – and customize! Nissin Foods (USA) Co, Inc., the company that created instant ramen and the first Cup Noodles®, launched their newest Cup Noodles that allows consumers to microwave their favorite meal in just 2½ minutes. This new Cup Noodles features the same great taste that consumers love, but with fresh new packaging. Nissin's Cup Noodles was redesigned to have extra room to allow consumers to customize their cup exactly how they like it by adding their favorite ingredients to make a healthier, heartier meal.

The new Nissin Cup Noodles will initially be available in Chicken, Beef, and Hearty Chicken flavors, and can be found at select Walmart® stores across the country beginning today. The products will become more widely available at leading retailers throughout the year.

Customize Your Cup Photo & Video Contest

Nissin Cup Noodles is also encouraging consumers to show and share their custom recipe creations in the Customize Your Cup contest. From August 10 through November 1, Cup Noodles’ fans can submit photos or short videos of how they customized their own Nissin Cup Noodles for a chance to win up to $3,000.

Consumers can enter the contest by posting images of their prepared meal creations to Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #MyCustomCup or by submitting entries directly at or on Nissin’s Facebook page

“Nissin Cup Noodles fans’ are always adding tasty ingredients to make their noodle meals more customized to their personal tastes, and we want them to share their favorite recipes with us and their friends,” said Chung. “With the addition of a microwavable cup, the opportunities for customizing your Cup Noodles are endless.”

Each week, the photo entry with the most votes/likes will receive a $500 gift card. At the conclusion of the contest, all entries will be judged and additional prizes will be awarded, including:

  • Grand Prize Winner – $3,000 Gift Card (One Winner)
  • Second Place Prizes – $2,000 Gift Card (Two Winners)
  • Third Place Prizes – $1,000 Gift Card (Three Winners)

New Packaging

The new Nissin Cup Noodles moves from a foam cup to a microwave-friendly packaging. The new Cup Noodles will also feature less overall exterior packaging material. This combination of new product design and packaging reduction has resulted in a more sustainable cup that delivers a 20 percent reduction in overall carbon emissions.
