CHICAGO--()--The Cigna Foundation will bring the spirit of partnership to Chicago as it hosts its first-ever World of Difference Summit on July 15-16 at the W Chicago, Lakeshore. The Summit will bring together the Cigna Foundation’s major non-profit grant partners working around the country, and around the world, as well as many leading Chicago nonprofits, to “Spread the Health” by learning from each other and exploring opportunities to work together. The World of Difference Summit is built around the theme of partnership – partnership among the corporate for-profit world and non-profits, and partnership among non-profit organizations themselves.

In explaining the driving motivation behind the Summit, Cigna Foundation Executive Director David Figliuzzi said: “There is a well-known African proverb that says, ‘If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.' We hope to take that wisdom another step further by suggesting that we, together with our non-profit partners, can go faster as well as go farther if we work hand-in-hand.”

The Summit’s “working together” theme will kick off with a keynote address by Becky Kanis Margiotta, co-founder of transformational change organization The Billions Institute, who will speak about “Working Outside the Matrix in an Inside the Matrix Organization.” Throughout the event, grant recipients will hear more about how other Cigna Foundation “World of Difference” grantee organizations are improving health and wellness in their communities, and will share best practices that can help spark new ways of improving health in Chicago and other communities.

Throughout the Summit, participants will be encouraged to contribute to the discussion in real-time as well as through their social networks, using the hashtag for the event: #CignaFoundationPartners.
