CUPERTINO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Altia Systems® – a Gartner® Inc. 2015 Cool Vendor in Unified Communications – today announced that it will unveil a new industry-first panoramic video camera at the first-ever Microsoft Ignite at McCormick Place Convention Center in Chicago, IL. May 4-8, Booth #362. The new panoramic camera will be the first of its kind to achieve human visual perspective, delivering a natural human visual experience that feels like being there in-person. While details will be revealed when the camera is announced on May 4, the company said that it will break new ground in size, resolution and ease of use, giving people in a variety of walks of life (from business to education, healthcare and even family web conferences) a “plug-and-play” conferencing experience as if they were all in the same room together, with the potential to transform how people see and connect electronically.
“The ability to see a panoramic view of the meeting room dramatically enhances the overall video conferencing experience,” said Ira M. Weinstein, senior analyst and partner at Wainhouse Research. “The new PanaCast camera promises a compelling combination of plug-and-play operation, support for popular applications including Skype and Skype for Business, and a small and unobtrusive form factor. We can’t reveal more until the official announcement at Microsoft Ignite, but we believe a visit to the Altia Systems booth for a demo will be worth your time.”
“Our new PanaCast video camera makes major viewing experience and technology breakthroughs in the world of panoramic video cameras,” said Aurangzeb Khan, President and CEO of Altia Systems. “We believe it will make video and web conferencing more collaborative and productive.”
In addition to the new PanaCast® camera, Altia Systems will also be demonstrating its recently announced PanaCast® Experience service. Used in conjunction with a PanaCast camera, it is a disruptive video solution that gives Microsoft® Lync®/Skype® for Business users a fully immersive video perspective from all the PanaCast cameras in a Lync®/Skype® for Business meeting, letting them see everything in the meeting rooms as if they were there in person. Participants can virtually “look around” the room by navigating through the PanaCast® video streams with familiar multi-touch gestures on their personal devices to create their own views from anywhere there is an Internet connection. In real-time, they can scan across the room to see who is there or focus in on the whiteboard or speaker – just as they would do if they were physically present in the meeting.
The inaugural Microsoft Ignite is expected to bring together more than 20,000 senior decision makers, IT professionals and enterprise developers alike to grow their technical expertise. As a new unified enterprise technology conference, Ignite is purposely designed for those who've previously attended Microsoft Exchange, Lync, Project, SharePoint, MMS, or TechEd conferences.
