Arcos Dorados Launches McMio across Mexico, Offering Personalized Meal Combos to McDonald’s Customers

Includes New Condiment Tables Complete with Local Salsa Varieties, Jalapeno Slices and More

BUENOS AIRES--()--McDonald’s in Mexico is getting a lot more personal.

Arcos Dorados, which franchises McDonald’s restaurants in 20 Latin American and Caribbean countries, announced the nationwide launch of McMío, which in English means “McMine,” at its restaurants across Mexico. McMío allows customers to create their own personalized meal combinations, expanding their choices from the traditional burger, fries and soft drink to combos that might comprise a salad, chiliquesos, McNuggets, flavored water or hot coffee.

Following a pilot program last year in the cities of Querétaro and León, McMío will be rolled out across the country starting with Mexico’s largest cities including Mexico City, Puebla, Oaxaca and Monterrey.

In addition to customized meal combinations, McDonald’s in Mexico will also provide new condiment tables that let customers further customize their sandwiches with their favorite spicy condiments, such as jalapeño slices, red and green salsas, and chimichurri sauce, as well as McDonald’s mainstays including ketchup, mustard and barbecue sauce. McMío will also offer free drink refills, including soft drinks, coffee and water.

“Arcos Dorados is committed to providing McDonald’s customers with a dining experience that embraces the traditional flavors of their own countries. In Mexico, McMío seeks to include more offerings from the country’s rich culinary traditions. In addition, it addresses the desire of our customers for greater personalization and the ability to top sandwiches with their favorite spicy condiments. We are pleased to be able to offer McMío now to customers across Mexico,” said Marcelo Rabach, President of the North Latin America Division for Arcos Dorados.

Arcos Dorados expects to have McMío in more than 250 of its McDonald’s restaurants in Mexico by the end of 2015.

McMío’s launch follows Arcos Dorados’ successful Puertas Abiertas, or “Open Doors,” initiative, which welcomed more than 400,000 Mexican customers to its McDonald’s kitchens last year to see what happens behind the counter and in the kitchen as well as learn how team members assure that every customer gets exactly what he or she has ordered.
