ACTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Affirmed Networks, the leader in virtualized mobile networks, today announced that wireless technology leader, Steve Elfman, has been appointed to its Board of Directors. Before retiring from Sprint last year, Elfman held the position as president of Network Operations and Wholesale where he drove the company’s innovative approach to service and network operations and development. As part of the Affirmed Networks Board of Directors, Elfman will help the company enhance its leadership position providing Network Function Virtualization (NFV) solutions to leading mobile operators globally.

Elfman joined the Sprint leadership team in 2008 and as president of Network Operations and Wholesale, he was responsible for Product, Technology Development, Network, Wholesale Operations, Value Added Services, Procurement and Real Estate, Information Technology and Digital. Prior to joining the Sprint executive team, Elfman held management positions at several industry-leading companies such as InfoSpace Mobile, Motricity, Terabeam, AT&T Wireless, GE Capital and 3M Company.
Elfman graduated from the University of Western Ontario in Canada with a degree in Computer Science. He currently serves on the board of Goodman Networks and Smith Micro and is an advisor to ItsOn and ImiMobile and previously served on the Competitor Carrier Association, Bethany College and Clearwire boards.
