Cognitive Networks Names Nick Chakalos as Senior Vice President, Global Distribution

SAN FRANCISCO--()--Cognitive Networks, the market-leading provider of real-time services that power Enhanced TV on Smart TVs, today announced the appointment of Nick Chakalos as SVP of Global Distribution.

A veteran high-tech executive, Chakalos has more than 25 years of business development, sales, product management, and operations experience.

“Nick has held leadership roles in various organizations that have made major contributions to the evolution of television and media," said Michael Collette, CEO at Cognitive Networks. “His industry knowledge, professionalism, and strategic depth will provide a great basis for building our global relationships with television manufacturers and other prospective users of our platform.”

Previously, Chakalos was President of Catch Media, a provider of cloud-based content access, data measurement, and in-app marketing systems enabling a variety of consumer music, video, and e-book services.

Prior to that, he held several executive positions at Motorola focusing on interactive TV applications, OTT video, digital media, and VOD solutions for the company’s multi-billion dollar Broadband Home Solutions division. He joined Motorola through the acquisition of Ucentric Systems where he was vice president of business development. His experience also includes tenures at IBM, Philips Electronics, Spyglass, and Texas Instruments.

Chakalos earned dual undergraduate degrees in Engineering from Dartmouth College and an M.B.A from Babson College.
