Telemundo52 and NBC4 Host “Licenses for All Licencias Para Todos” — Phone Bank on Tuesday, December 2

NBCUniversal’s Two Local Stations Will Provide Answers and Information to Viewers About New California Driver License Law Set to Take Effect January 2015

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif.--()--Telemundo52 Los Angeles (KVEA) and NBC4 Southern California (KNBC) will host a phone bank on Tuesday, December 2, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM PST to provide Southern California viewers with direct answers and information about Assembly Bill 60 and what it means to them. The “Driver Licenses for Undocumented People in California” law is set to take effect in early 2015 and will allow undocumented individuals to apply for a California driver license with proof of automotive insurance.

Both local-area stations will work in partnership with the California Department of Motor Vehicles as well as representatives from the Consul Generals of Guatemala, Mexico and others, to provide viewers and the broader community with the information they need to apply for a California driver’s license under the new state law.

This event is one of many both NBCUniversal owned stations have held in the past year that showcases the stations’ strong commitment to serving their local viewers with news and information they need to live their daily lives. Earlier this year, Telemundo52 and NBC4 moved to a new state-of-the-art broadcast facility, the new “Brokaw News Center,” which is located on the lot of Universal Studios in Universal City. Both stations are owned by NBCUniversal and work closely together to co-share resources to better serve viewers in the southern California area in two languages and through one voice.
