DENVER--()--Accuvant, the authoritative source for enterprise information security, today announced that it has named Jessvin Thomas as vice president of managed security services (MSS). Thomas, a former Blackstone executive, is playing a key role in driving Accuvant’s increasingly proactive strategy to innovate MSS that enable security leaders to multiply the effectiveness of their teams. He also is responsible for managing day-to-day operations and delivery for the company’s MSS clients, and seeking opportunities to enhance and expand Accuvant’s MSS offerings.

“Accuvant is laser-focused on providing our clients with everything they need to plan, build and run successful security programs, solve focused security problems, and execute on specific security projects,” said Dan Burns, Accuvant co-founder and chief executive officer. “As a former Fortune 500 consumer of managed security services, Jessvin brings to Accuvant a solid understanding of the type of support enterprise-level organizations want, and the operational expertise to ensure practical execution. We are pleased to have Jessvin on board, and looking forward to finding new ways to help security leaders get the most they can out of their technology investments and their teams.”

Thomas, an IT, internet services and product management expert, was most recently vice president of information risk and security at Blackstone, where he focused on building an environment of excellence and innovation that could safeguard the firm while maximizing business agility. Prior to joining Blackstone, Thomas spent several years at Nokia where he held various roles of increasing responsibility. He developed a fully automated private cloud solution supporting applications used by millions of consumers around the world; directed day-to-day operations for the Platform division of Nokia’s internet services business; and handled long-term global operational planning for all Nokia Services eCommerce.

Thomas also helped drive startup cultures within enterprise organizations and is recognized for his passion in leading organizations to adapt to and succeed from the constant change inherent in the technology industry. He began his career as a security consultant at Exault, which was acquired by VeriSign, where he developed hands-on experience with firewall, IDS and network security implementations for a variety of clients.

“The demands of Internet services companies have driven innovations at scale in areas such as cloud, big data and DevOps. Similarly, the dynamic nature of the current security landscape will drive new emerging leaders in managed security services who can prove their capability to continuously and effectively adapt," said Thomas. “I am extremely excited to have joined Accuvant. The company has a solid reputation in the security industry, and its executive leadership and board have made a significant commitment to invest in a managed security service that is operationally world-class and innovative in technology and approach.”

Accuvant’s MSS provide organizations with remote, 24/7 access to the essential expertise and infrastructure they need to effectively monitor and manage the security of their environments, and quickly identify and respond to potential security threats.
