eHarmony Hits Record-Breaking Numbers of Subscribers

Turnaround Strategy Builds New Levels of Success at eHarmony

SANTA MONICA, Calif.--()--On the two-year anniversary of Dr. Neil Clark Warren’s return as CEO of eHarmony, the company has announced that its turnaround strategy has driven the highest number of subscribers on the site ever. In 2012, Dr. Warren restructured the company, taking eHarmony back to its roots, reinforcing its differentiators in the online dating industry and working to restore eHarmony to a leadership position in the space. Today, eHarmony celebrates the success of these initiatives and the 54% growth in subscribers they have enabled.

“eHarmony was created as a way for individuals to begin a relationship already a step ahead – with someone who is truly compatible,” said Dr. Warren. “We are proud of what we have achieved over the past two years, securing the largest subscriber base in our history. Today, eHarmony is not only poised to lead the industry, but to redefine it by extending compatibility from the search for a right partner to the search for a right career. We are confident in our ability to continue to grow eHarmony in the future.”

Prior to Dr. Warren’s return, eHarmony was in serious decline. Under different leadership, the company had begun to follow the market rather than lead it, prompting Dr. Warren to retake the role of CEO, bring in a new management team and rebuild the company. The management team put together and executed a cross-functional strategy that included a redesigned user experience from desktop to mobile, increased technological capacity and a new marketing program. These changes have led to growing numbers of subscribers who stay longer and are willing to pay more than in years past.

After putting the company back on course, Dr. Warren then announced plans to expand the company’s current offerings to include nine new verticals aimed at taking eHarmony beyond the online dating industry to become the world’s first relationship company.

Now in a growth stage, eHarmony has launched eH+, its premium matchmaking service with plans to launch a beta version of a new job matching product in the coming months, establishing two of the nine new verticals projected.
