BIRMINGHAM, Ala.--()--Since 2003, Soldiers’ Angels has worked tirelessly to live by the mantra, “May No Soldier Go Unloved.” Founded by the mother of two American soldiers that learned of troops who never received mail or packages, Soldiers’ Angels demonstrates active care by sending thousands of care packages and letters to “adopted” service members serving overseas. For the fifth campaign running, Books-A-Million, Inc. (Nasdaq: BAMM), has joined the effort, collecting a total of 150,000 bags of Joe Muggs coffee, since the ‘Coffee for Troops’ campaign started in 2012. The coffee was donated by Books-A-Million customers throughout the country.

“Our customers are thankful for the dedication our service men and women provide our country, and their generosity is demonstrated during our ‘Coffee for the Troops’ campaigns,” said Natalie Blankenship, Joe Muggs Café Buyer.

The coffee is currently being received and distributed by Veterans Affairs facilities nationwide to be enjoyed just in time for the 4th of July holiday.

The best part about the coffee care packages are the heartfelt notes and personal messages that customers wrote on the donated bags of coffee. Patriotic greetings and children’s drawings dot the massive piles of coffee being donated.

Books-A-Million each year happily donates bags of coffee in kind with its customers to support the cause. This year, Books-A-Million and its customers together donated over 40,300 bags of Joe Muggs coffee – a small taste of home for the troops, nationwide and actively deployed.

“We appreciate the kindness of both Books-A-Million and the supporting public in response to our organization’s efforts,” said Amy Palmer, President & CEO of Soldiers’ Angels. “This coffee is truly an encouragement to our men and women serving in our armed forces. During a joyous American holiday, they can experience a little bit of home no matter where they are serving.”
