Ed Catmull to be Featured Keynote at The Strategic Execution Conference

Authors Rita McGrath, Huggy Rao and Robert Sutton Also to Speak

SAN MATEO, Calif.--()--IPS Learning and the Stanford Advanced Project Management Program announced today that Ed Catmull, President and co-founder of Pixar Animation Studios and President of Walt Disney Animation Studios (WDAS), will be a keynote speaker at The Strategic Execution Conference on October 21 and 22. Catmull will address this year’s theme “Linking Strategy to Execution through Innovative Techniques” along with globally-recognized management thinkers Rita McGrath, Robert Sutton and Hayagreeva “Huggy” Rao.

In 1995, Catmull helped create the first ever feature-length computer animated film, Pixar’s “Toy Story,” and changed the face of animation. Under his leadership, Pixar has released an unprecedented string of fourteen straight box office hits and Walt Disney Animation Studios produced the top grossing animated film of all time, “Frozen.” The author of the New York Times bestseller “Creativity, Inc.,” Catmull will share how he cultivated an environment where artists turned imagination to strategy and execution without discouraging creativity.

He will be joined by acclaimed business author and expert, Rita McGrath, who was named one of the top 10 business thinkers by the Thinkers50 Global Management Awards, which presented her with the No. 1 award for strategy in 2013. McGrath, author of “The End of Competitive Advantage,” offers a new set of principles for succeeding in a rapidly changing world and connects cutting edge research to practical business problems.

Business authors and Stanford University professors, Robert Sutton and Huggy Rao will deliver a joint keynote focused on their recent best seller, “Scaling Up Excellence.” Sutton and Rao will address the challenge all organizations face – how to scale up farther, faster and more effectively to keep recharging organizations with ever better work practices.

The Strategic Execution Conference is a two-day conference that will bring together more than 500 executives, leaders and senior managers from major high-tech and innovation organizations worldwide to learn how their peers are overcoming barriers to strategic execution from the world’s preeminent thought leaders.
