KLab Releases Rhythm Game School Idol Festival Based on Japan’s Popular School Idol Project “LoveLive!”

Sing and tap along with popular songs by μ’s

SAN FRANCISCO--()--KLab Inc. announced today the global launch of their rhythm game, School Idol Festival. KLab and Bushiroad Inc., who announced their joint development agreement September 2012, developed the smartphone game based on Japan’s popular School Idol Project “LoveLive!”, a multimedia project consisting of music CDs, animated music videos, live events, magazines, trading cards, and an animated TV series. The animated TV series, now in its second season, is officially distributed through online media streaming service Crunchyroll.

The Japanese version of School Idol Festival, which launched April 11, 2013, achieved the #1 spot for both the Adventure and Music game genres. It was also the #2 Top Grossing iPhone app as well as the #1 Top Grossing iPad app in the App Store.

School Idol Festival follows the story of the nine members of μ’s as they train to become the best school idols. In addition to the main story, the game features challenges in which players tap along to the rhythm of popular μ’s songs. Players will encounter and collect the different members of μ’s throughout the game and will be able to build a custom group composed of nine members. To progress in the story, players participate in musical challenges that feature popular songs by the members of μ’s. Players can also level up amassed members and unlock individual members’ sidestory.

School Idol Festival is available to download for free on both iOS and Android.
