Kerry Siam Seaport Successfully Completes Navis N4 Implementation from SPARCS Express

Implementation will ensure that world class, multi-purpose deep seaport is able to scale operations across terminals throughout Thailand

OAKLAND, Calif.--()--Navis, the global technology standard for managing the movement of cargo through terminals, today announced that Kerry Siam Seaport (KSSP), a world class multi-purpose deep seaport located at the Eastern Seaboard gateway of Thailand, has successfully completed its migration from SPARCS Express to N4. This implementation is an important step in optimizing and improving overall terminal effectiveness to support scalability – and underscores KSSP’s commitment to a global gold standard terminal operating system for their customers.

“We believe that the container terminal business will be the key to our growth and success over the next few years,” said Arnajak Thangsathityangkul, General Manager of Container Terminal Business, KSSP. “In order to best support our business and growth initiatives, we had to examine the technology used at the terminal and invest in the most trusted and effective IT systems. This resulted in our migration to N4. As part of the upgrade, we were able to complete extensive testing to reduce the potential for downtime in the terminal and ensure that our operations staff was properly trained.”

As the largest multipurpose port in Thailand and the gateway port to ASEAN, KSSP provides wide berth docking, container operations and warehouse storage in one location. The port terminal serves as an all-in-one logistics center for a cost-effective, import-export global gateway for land-sea and over-rivers supply chain functions. The upgrade to N4 includes Billing and General Cargo functionality as well as the benefit of Navis’ optimization modules, PrimeRoute and Autostow. PrimeRoute enables real-time routing, dispatching and monitoring of straddle carriers, terminal tractors and other transportation vehicles. Autostow generates stow plans for the entire ship or by specific bay in compliance with vessel planning stowage strategy.

“Since KSSP places a high priority on technology and efficiency for their terminal operations, they required a more robust, effective and scalable TOS to meet growth objectives,” said Ian Sehgal, General Manager, Asia Pacific region at Navis. “The successful upgrade to N4 can be attributed to preparation and comprehensive system testing – and the positive outcome is a true example of collaboration and partnership. We look forward to continuing to work closely with KSSP as they continue to optimize and automate terminal operations.”

N4 is Navis’ sophisticated and modern technology platform that optimizes operational efficiency and powers the intelligent movement of goods through container terminals worldwide. N4 allows customers the flexibility and scalability they need to run their operations, from a single terminal to multiple terminals across multiple geographic locations all within a single instance.
