Choctaw Casino Resort Awards $2,865,323 in Card Player Poker Tour

Casino welcomed approximately 11,000 players for inaugural tour’s penultimate stop

DURANT, Okla.--()--Choctaw Casino Resort in Durant, Okla., home to an upscale, exclusive 30 table poker lounge, awarded $2,865,323 in the Card Player Poker Tour from July 18 to August 5. The tournament, attended by approximately 11,000 amateur and professional players, was the penultimate stop on the inaugural tour for Card Player Magazine.

The Card Player Poker Tour included a schedule of 54 events and daily guaranteed tournaments. The final table, held on Aug. 5, had a prize pool of $1,103,091, far exceeding the $500,000 guarantee, with 735 entries for the $1,500 buy-in main event.

Event #4 on July 20 was the $100,000 guarantee with over 3,000 entrants over the course of two days. Professional and local poker player T.J. Cloutier was the winner of the event, taking home $49,615. T.J. Cloutier has been a long-time advocate and player at Choctaw Casino Resort. He is the only person in the history of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) to have won events in three types of Omaha played at the World Series — Pot Limit High, Limit High and Limit 8-or-Better High-Low Split. He has won a total of six WSOP bracelets in his career.

Final event winners were:

  • First Place: Mo Abedi-Arani with $220,626
  • Second Place: Allan Farber with $136,011
  • Third Place: Lou Barlow with $100,271

The Card Player Poker Tournament at Choctaw Casino Resort is one of many poker events hosted by the casino throughout the year.
