PORTLAND, Ore.--()--Smithers Rapra has announced the full program ahead of the 16th GOCarbonFiber conference. Following on the previous success of the GOCarbonFiber conferences, the 2013 forum will return to the composites hotbed of Seattle, and bring an anticipated 130 carbon fibre experts together to discuss the latest issues facing this highly competitive growing industry sector.

The fresh 2013 agenda tackles the questions on everybody’s lips – how big and how soon will mainstream automotive carbon fiber be? Through extensive research with industry peers, this year's event promises to engage the newest players in the market unafraid to address the key issues at the heart of future growth of the carbon fiber sector.

With Keynote addresses from Bill Regan, VP Engineering & Technology, Zoltek Corporation and Bentley Motors’ former Principal Research Manager, Antony Dodworth - automotive composites promise to be front and centre at the conference. But it’s not all about automotive, as renowned aerospace engineer Jens Hinrichsen of Aerospace Advisory Group will digest the latest news from across the aviation world and give us a glimpse of what the future holds.

Guided by a Program Committee comprising some of the world’s most seasoned experts, the agenda features 18 speakers selected due to their experience and expertise in the industry. The program will include updates on key end use sectors - automotive, aerospace, pressure vessels; discuss the ‘big chemical’ intervention in the sector; provide an extensive roadmap for carbon fiber producers to scale up; address production efficiencies; MRO; and the latest development with high performance materials from recycled CFRP.

With a strong social program supported by the Washington State Department of Commerce, the event also aims to engage the wider composites community in this region with an inclusive approach for small and medium companies, not just global ‘premier league’ players.
