DALLAS--()--Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) announced the final two winners of the 2013 Tyler Public Sector Excellence Awards for its Courts & Justice Division at its Odyssey® user conference in Austin, Texas. Dallas County and Denton County, both in Texas, received Excellence Awards for their use of the Odyssey court case management system.

Tyler’s Excellence Awards for Odyssey recognize organizations that have demonstrated excellence in deploying Odyssey in novel and successful ways that extend best practices. The awards honor innovation in organizational efficiency, productivity and responsiveness.

Award submissions were evaluated by a panel of Tyler leadership. Entries were judged on business value, maturity, innovation and relevance to other public-sector organizations. Additional criteria met by award winners include:

  • Creating a unique process that utilizes a Tyler application
  • Realizing significant savings after implementing a Tyler product
  • Increasing staff productivity by implementing a Tyler product
  • Empowering employees, citizens or vendors

Dallas County developed a centralized database for information shared with school districts and used Odyssey’s API (application programming interface) toolkit to link databases, which reduced paper filing, shortened elapsed filing time and increased staff efficiencies. Denton County implemented Odyssey county-wide and integrated bail bond tracking and reporting across multiple departments, improving security of data and reducing bond liability for the county.

Both Tyler Excellence Award winners were honored on May 23, 2013, at the Odyssey user conference in Austin, Texas, where they were presented with the award. Winners were also offered an expense-paid trip to the conference.

“Tyler’s Public Sector Excellence Awards program is our chance to publicly recognize clients who meet constituent needs by embracing technology to help them improve operations and manage tight budgets through innovative uses of Odyssey,” said Bruce Graham, president of Tyler’s Courts & Justice Division. “Feedback from our forward-thinking clients continues to enhance the power of Odyssey, and at this conference we showed off new capabilities that will help courts move further toward end-to-end electronic transactions. Congratulations to the winners of Odyssey’s Tyler Excellence Awards.”
