ORLANDO, Fla.--()--Jupiter Systems, the leading worldwide supplier of visualization and collaboration solutions for video walls, PCs, and mobile devices, has announced a new technology partnership with Haivision, provider of solutions for streaming, recording, managing, and distributing secure IP video.

Jupiter’s Canvas™ multipoint collaborative visualization systems now offer integration with Haivision’s high performance Makito™ H.264 encoders, giving enterprises the ability to have their analog CCTV video surveillance systems work directly within their enterprise network video systems. The combined solution enables organizations to encode and multicast real-time video throughout the organization, on Jupiter display wall controllers, PCs, tablets and smartphones, enhancing situational awareness and enabling better decision-making.

Jupiter’s award-winning Canvas allows users to share video streams and collaborate across the enterprise, on display walls, PCs, and mobile devices. Canvas allows authorized users to see, share and collaborate from any location. Sharing a common operating picture across the enterprise or battlefield is essential but insufficient by itself. Effective management of emerging situations depends on collaboration. Canvas brings a rich set of familiar tools for collaboration and allows them to be used in ways that no other system can.

Haivision’s Makito HD H.264 encoders support up to 1080p60 resolution with very low end-to-end latency. Available with SDI (SDI, HD-SDI, 3G-SDI, Composite, S-Video) or DVI (DVI, XGA, Component) video inputs, the Makito offers the highest possible density with up to 12 HD inputs/channels in a single rack unit, sold as a single appliance or part of a 6 slot or 21 slot chassis. Unique in the market for its Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) certification, Haivision’s Makito encodes DVI signals and then outputs H.264 video streams, which are then multicast to various clients in a Canvas system for real-time viewing.

“Haivision is a valued technology partner with a reputation for the highest levels of performance and flexible codec technology,” said Brady O. Bruce, vice president of marketing and strategic alliances at Jupiter Systems. “We are delighted to offer our award-winning Canvas collaboration and visualization solution with full support for Haivision’s encoding technology.”

“Jupiter’s Canvas solution is a game changing product, setting a strong standard for visualization and collaboration solutions across the enterprise and around the world. Users can access content wherever it is needed and annotate directly on live video and Haivision’s flagship Makito encoders make the delivery of video to these systems seamless,” said Peter Maag, chief marketing officer at Haivision.

The combined solution will make its debut at InfoComm 2013 at the Jupiter Systems booth #3121 and Haivision booth #4847.
