Northwestern Mutual - St. Louis and Cheeriodicals Spread Cheer to St. Louis Children’s Hospital

ST. LOUIS--()--Northwestern Mutual - St. Louis and Cheeriodicals have brought cheer in the form of 300 big green boxes to the children of St. Louis during its “Cheeriodicals Day at Children’s Hospital” event held on January 8, 2013. Cheeriodicals are “big green boxes of cheer” made up, in this case, of age-appropriate magazines and activity books, room decorations, puzzles, stickers, games and more goodies for the children to enjoy.

“We are so excited to have Northwestern Mutual – St. Louis and Cheeriodicals visit Children’s today,” said Karen Reiker, Special Events Project Coordinator, St. Louis Children’s Hospital Foundation. “We sincerely appreciate Northwestern Mutual - St. Louis and Managing Partner, Gerard Hempstead, for sponsoring this day of smiles. All of our patients were thrilled to receive such special and fun gifts.”

“We’re excited to work with Northwestern Mutual - St. Louis on this amazing day at St. Louis Children’s Hospital,” said Gary Parisher, President of Cheeriodicals. “Northwestern Mutual has such a strong commitment to giving back to their community and this event allows them to measure the impact of their gift in smiles.”

Cheeriodicals and a team from Northwestern Mutual - St. Louis began delivering the big green boxes of cheer at 9:00 a.m. on a room by room basis. The boxes were tailored to boys or girls and specific age groups and are sure to bring joy to the children.

“We chose to work with Cheeriodicals because we really like their product and concept and believe it is a great choice to share with the children,” said Gerard Hempstead, Managing Partner, from Northwestern Mutual - St. Louis. “We are excited to help with this day of smiles at St. Louis Children’s Hospital and giving back is something that we strongly believe in.”

Cheeriodicals Day is catching on across the country. Cheeriodicals recently worked with children’s hospitals in Birmingham, Memphis, Atlanta and New Orleans on its Cheeriodicals Day and has plans to continue working with corporate sponsors to continue to bring cheer to children’s hospitals throughout the country.
