NEW YORK--()--Today, Macy’s (NYSE:M) announced the expansion of its annual last-minute shopping marathon to stores nationwide. Last-minute customers can find great deals on holiday gifts as the retailer will open most stores for 48-hours straight for its last scheduled One Day Sale in the final weekend leading up to Christmas. Beginning at 7 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 21 through 7 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 23, last-minute shoppers can check off their lists any time of day or night at Macy’s stores nationwide. Though the One Day Sale offers will conclude at 7 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 23, Macy’s stores will stay open for business for the remainder of the day – most until midnight*. Additionally, for shoppers who need a little extra help with their gift list, Macy’s will make it easier for customers in the final few weeks with great ‘gifts under’ $100, $50 and $25. As the holiday gift destination, Macy’s has something for everyone this season, even at the last minute.

"For the first time ever, Macy’s will keep most stores open around the clock for the last weekend of holiday shopping, an expansion of our successful marathon that began at select stores in 2006," said Peter Sachse, Macy’s chief stores officer. “We hope to make it easy for our customers across the country to finish their shopping at any time of day or night, and with the benefit of the great deals and value they count on from our One Day Sale events."

Macy’s began the tradition of keeping its doors open 24-hours with Macy’s Queens Center in 2006. Macy’s added additional stores in subsequent years, and last year offered customers the opportunity to shop outside regular store hours in 14 locations that were open 24-hours and in 27 locations that offered extended hours. This year, select stores will continue this tradition and stay open beyond the One Day Sale through store close on Christmas Eve on Monday, Dec. 24 at 6 p.m.
