CHICAGO--()--Levenfeld Pearlstein, LLC is pleased to announce Trusts & Estates partner Rob Romanoff will assume the role of managing partner on January 1. Romanoff succeeds co-founding partner Bryan Schwartz in a planned leadership transition.

“Bryan has guided LP through the first 14 years of its existence, and his foresight is largely responsible for the uncommon position LP enjoys today as a thriving firm with a clear set of values that favor innovation, creativity, and a dedication to giving back to our communities,” said Romanoff. “Bryan’s foresight has also been crucial in this leadership transition, which has been the subject of deliberate, careful consideration within LP due to thoughtful planning he initiated years ago,” added Romanoff.

“This is a proud moment for LP, and for me personally,” said Schwartz. “From the beginning, I’ve always had a goal to prepare our organization for a successful management transition. For me, this transition is not so much an ending as it is the culmination of the careful work we’ve done throughout my tenure to institutionalize our values and establish a structured path forward for the firm,” added Schwartz.

The transition is the result of a multi-year succession planning effort, culminating in a two-year transparent process, led by Schwartz, and including the identification of leadership competencies and multiple rounds of input from firm stakeholders.

The firm made the choice long ago to cultivate leaders through a formal training program, which if successful will create future leaders with skills that surpass each predecessor. It’s one part of the founders’ considered effort to keep LP a vibrant institution well into the future.

Bryan Schwartz will remain chairman of LP, and will return to active practice in the firm’s corporate and restructuring practices.
