OAKLAND, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Outbid (www.outbid.com), the online auction service that combines the theater and transparency of live auctions with social and gaming features, has announced the addition of Amy Harich as Chief Marketing Officer.
Harich most recently was President for ScreamEngine, an idea company specializing in corporate positioning, advertising, PR, events and marketing strategies. She founded the company as a way to continue to help make the brands she’s worked with more distinctive, memorable and, most importantly, profitable. Clients included those in the promotional, consumer-packaged goods, home improvement and consumer electronics fields. Harich will report directly to Outbid CEO Dan Granger.
“Amy has proven throughout her career that she understands not only marketing but the nuances of re-branding, strategic positioning and numerous other areas, thanks to her experience with both traditional companies as well as innovative startups,” said Dan Granger, CEO of Outbid. “Her versatility makes Outbid that much stronger at this exciting, pivotal time for the company.”
Harich was previously Director of Marketing at Woot Wholesale (www.woot.com), a leading specialty distributor and pioneer of the "one deal a day" business model on the Internet. Amy also has held the position of Director of Marketing for CPG, Inc., a leading promotions management and fulfillment provider, and was responsible for re-branding the company, strategic positioning and all marketing initiatives. Her other experience includes the Director of Marketing for IC INTRACOM, where she managed and coordinated every facet of this high technology company’s marketing and communications programs; and Marketing Manager at Catalina Marketing where she compiled an impressive list of accomplishments during her eight-year tenure.
“Coming to Outbid just as the company is establishing itself in e-commerce is in itself a thrill,” said Harich. “And when you factor in how the company is transforming the online auction in a way that’s infectious and user-friendly, it’s an added bonus to join as Outbid realizes a vision of making them so much more fun.”
Outbid is reinventing the online auction. By bringing the auction room online and adding social features, Outbid is enabling real auction action online. Founded in Oakland in October 2011, Outbid is a privately-held company with 16 full-time employees. Outbid is independently funded by NASDAQ-quoted Copart, Inc. (www.copart.com).
