NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AOL Inc. (NYSE: AOL) today announced that former Time Inc. executive Ned Desmond has joined the company to oversee AOL’s Tech Media brands, including Engadget, Joystiq, TechCrunch and The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW).

Desmond joins AOL from Go Outdoor Sportn Inc., a privately held social media company specializing in enthusiast media that he co-founded in 2009. Prior to that, he was president of Time Inc. Interactive, where he led Time Inc.'s digital efforts for six years; among his key projects were award-winning site re-launches at People, Entertainment Weekly, In Style, My Recipes, Life and Health. Before joining Time Inc. Interactive in 2003, Desmond founded eCompany/Business 2.0 in San Francisco, which became a popular business and technology media company.
