SOREL Offers Fans the Chance to get ‘Decked Out and Laced Up’ with Customized Lace Plates and Polyvore Style Challenge

PORTLAND, Ore.--()--SOREL, creating footwear for the fearless since 1962, invites consumers to get decked out and laced up during the 2012 Sundance Film Festival. Now through January 29, consumers have a chance to score customized lace plate boot accessories and a pair of SORELs, compete in a Polyvore Style Challenge and get real-time updates from the festival.

“We were inspired by the positive response at last year’s festival, we knew we had to come back,” said Kimberly Barta, SOREL’s global brand director. “This year, we want our online community to experience the festival with us – by providing exclusive opportunities, including customized lace plates for their SORELs, just like we are doing for our friends in Park City.”

Decked Out. Laced Up.

SOREL is extending its film festival VIP treatment to its friends on Facebook and giving them the exclusive opportunity to create custom lace plates that say whatever they want them to. SOREL’s Laser Bar will create the first 50 lace plates it receives each day of the festival via its ‘Decked Out. Laced Up.’ Facebook tab. SOREL will pick its five favorites every day and hook the creators up with a pair of boots from the Fall 2011 collection, like the popular TofinoTM, Cate the Great TM and Joan of Arctic TM for women and the 1964 PremiumTM T and Mad Boot Lace TM for men.

SOREL Polyvore Style Challenge

Through SOREL’s Polyvore Facebook Tab, the boot brand asks consumers to create looks from a closet curated in collaboration with Alex Frank, style editor of The FADER, a music, culture and style publication. The top 10 consumer-created looks will win a pair of SOREL boots and one winner will receive boots plus a $300 gift card to shop the look.
