MENLO PARK, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Bessemer Venture Partners (BVP), a global venture capital firm, today announced the promotions of Abhijeet Muzumdar and Sarah Tavel to vice president.

Muzumdar works with Bessemer India in the Mumbai office. He focuses on internet & technology start-ups and financial services companies and has been closely involved with a number of investments including BharatMatrimony.com, Snapdeal.com, Home First Finance Company and Dhanlaxmi Bank. Prior to joining Bessemer India, Muzumdar was at Edelweiss Capital, where he worked in the investment banking team. Before Edelweiss, he worked in New York for the UBS investment banking team and KPMG's corporate finance team. Muzumdar holds a Bachelors of Commerce degree from Narsee Monjee College of Commerce & Economics and an MBA from Adelphi University’s Hagedorn School of Business. Tavel is based out of Bessemer’s Menlo Park office, having previously worked in the firm's Larchmont, NY office. She focuses on the software and Internet sectors and is closely involved with investments in Pinterest, Metalogix, Yodle, Onestop, Convertro, MindBody,Intego and KupiVIP. Tavel was also involved in several companies where BVP has already realized exits, including Cornerstone onDemand (IPO), Quidsi (acquired by Amazon), OLX (acquired by Naspers) and CPower (acquired by Constellation Energy). Prior to joining Bessemer, Tavel was a consultant for The Kerdan Group, a strategy-consulting firm, where she focused on the pharmaceutical and medical-device industries.
