SAN DIEGO--()--Just in time for all the new computers being purchased this holiday season, Zui.com released the Zui Bar. Everything from the new family computer to the hand-me-down devices kids will be inheriting can be easily enhanced with this free toolbar that gives one-click access to the kid-selected, parent approved content on this award winning site. Kids can independently get to the games, videos, and content they love on Zui.com no matter where they are on the internet. Parents are freed up from helping them log on and from creating separate accounts with favorites for each family member.

The Zui Bar is a very small toolbar that appears right under the normal navigation in your browser. It is out of the way for parents and easy for kids. The Zui Bar has a search function, direct links to games, videos & virtual worlds. It has drop down menus that show the most recently added games and newest videos from Zui Stars, the kid-centric video experience that negates the need to wade through the sea of content on YouTube by giving kids their own viral video universe. It also shows kids how many points they have in the monthly drawing on Zui.com.

Although parents appreciate the safety provided by the Zui.com editorial process, that is not a motivation for kids which is why you won’t find it mentioned in any of the kid-frequented areas of the site. Instead you will see something that does inspire them spend their web time on Zui.com, points and prizes. For every 1,000 points they earn on Zui.com having fun, they get another entry in the drawing for the grand prize. This month’s grand prize is an Apple iPad2. Consistently seeing their points on the Zui Bar encourages them to return to the kid-safe content on Zui.com.

So far, the use rate is impressive with over 82% of kids who download the Zui Bar using the bar to return to Zui.com multiple times each day. “We listen directly to kids’ requests and use the combined brain power of our staff to serve up what kids want in ways that provide the safety and ease families have come to rely on us for since our launch in 2006,” says Cliff Boro, CEO of Zui.com. “Kids wanted a homepage to call home and we gave it to them, but they also needed an ever-present way to get back to that homepage. The Zui Bar is any easy, free solution. Parents are responding well to it because it is an non-intrusive way to give kids customization and independence on the family computer.”
