NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Barking Cat Studio, an art studio located in Boerum Hill, is holding a Grand Re-Opening Week Celebration on September 17-18, 2011 from 10 am – 3 pm and September 19-22, 2011 from 6:30-8:30 pm, free and open to the public. Barking Cat Studio recently renovated their studio space and they’ve expanded their class offerings to include kids ages 18 months to 108 years old. Class times and workshops are flexible and are held on weekdays, weeknights and weekends, with special event and birthday party programs also on weekends. Registration is preferred but drop-ins are always welcome, provided there is space available.
Says Barking Cat Studio founder, Karen Merbaum, “My reason for opening Barking Cat Studio was two-fold. First, I wanted to fill the gap of declining arts education programs in my local Brooklyn community and offer affordable options for parents. Second, one of my greatest joys is to inspire and teach arts and crafts to kids of all ages. Art empowers children and fosters positive self-esteem. Making art helps children problem solve, and it offers them a much-needed creative outlet.”
Barking Cat Studio is conveniently located at 65 Bond Street, between State and Schermerhorn Streets. Public Transportation: A, C, G to Hoyt-Schermehorn; 2, 3, 4, 5 to Nevins; B, Q, D, N, R to Dekalb, F to Jay or Bergen; B63, B67 & B41.
