SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--A former University of Washington star fundraiser will now lead philanthropy and communications for the Institute for Systems Biology (ISB). Sissy Walsh Bouchard, EdD has been named vice president of development and will direct ISB's fundraising programs and initiatives and maximize visibility of ISB's mission and strategic goals. She will serve as a member of the senior management team.

Her skills and demonstrated results in donor relations will be central to ISB’s future growth and success. Bouchard will focus on increasing ISB's overall level of giving so ISB scientists can continue to tackle biological challenges that will accelerate discovery in human health and environmental sustainability. Fundraising will also promote ISB's ability to transfer knowledge to society through K-12 science education, the creation of spin-off companies and increasing a better understanding of the societal impacts of science and technology.
Bouchard joined the University of Washington (UW) in 2003. Since 2006, she served as a member of the University's three person principal giving team where she drove engagement strategies for key leadership gifts in collaboration with the president and provost. Bouchard also coordinated key donor cultivation and stewardship efforts with development colleagues and deans located throughout the UW. She previously served as director of development at the University's Foster School of Business from 2003 - 2006.

Bouchard received a bachelor's degree in public and environmental affairs, a master's degree in college student personnel, and a doctorate degree in higher education administration -- all from Indiana University, Bloomington.
Bouchard was selected from a highly competitive, broad-based pool of applicants, which came as the result of a national search conducted by Meng, Finseth, Peeps & Associates, a San Francisco Bay Area based recruitment firm.
