REDMOND, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Glympse™, the company behind the pioneering location sharing app Glympse, today announced it has passed 1 million users, in addition to closing a $7.5 million Series B round led by Menlo Ventures and Ignition Partners.
Glympse iPhone™ and Android apps let users quickly share their location – for a specified window of time – with anyone they choose. Users can even update their status on Facebook or Twitter via mobile phones, so friends can follow their real-time movements on a dynamic map.

Glympse’s unique “location time window” and privacy settings offer users the freedom to share their location with anyone they choose. Once downloaded to a smartphone, users can share their location with individuals from their contact list through an email or text message, as well as share with their Twitter followers and Facebook friends. Glympse users can simply send a Glympse and set a timer to specify how long they want their ongoing location to be visible, for up to four hours.
Sending a Glympse takes only seconds, and the receiver doesn’t require any special software; they only need web access to view the sender’s ongoing location. Glympse has proven to be a powerful tool for many uses – alerting colleagues when running late for a meeting, finding friends for after work get togethers or just checking in with the family.
Glympse has been included in many Top 10 and must-have app lists in both mainstream and technology press and seeks to continue the positive momentum in the coming year.
