Explorer Software Group Expands into Australian Market Through Acquisition of CSSP

With Its Eleventh Acquisition Since 2004, Explorer Software Group Expands Globally

VANCOUVER--()--Explorer Software Group, a leading provider of construction accounting software, announced today that it has acquired CSSP, the largest provider of software solutions for the Australian construction market.

CSSP has been designing and selling its own range of integrated and creative information-management and control systems for all aspects of the construction industry since 1983. Today, CSSP supports the mission-critical construction software systems for hundreds of organizations. It is dedicated to producing cost-effective and highly productive computer systems that utilize today’s best technology tools. With this acquisition, the company will operate its new Australian division from offices in Adelaide, Perth, Sydney, and Auckland, as well as through channels in Europe and Hong Kong. The acquisition of CSSP is Explorer’s 11th acquisition since 2004. Explorer has developed a proven strategy for integrating acquired companies into its existing infrastructure. In the case of CSSP, this strategy includes retaining CSSP’s existing staff to support clients, which will help to ensure that the acquisition is seamless. In addition, Marc Hemmett, the previous managing director for Kensington Computer Systems, has been appointed as the managing director of Australia for Explorer Software Group.

“Keeping the CSSP staff on board will provide a certain level of comfort for our new clients, because they will immediately receive knowledgeable and friendly service from the same people they are used to working with at CSSP,” explains Mike Aspinwall, COO of Explorer Software.

This newest acquisition reinforces Explorer Software Group’s position as a global provider of construction software solutions, and it signals Explorer’s ongoing commitment to stable growth.

“We see Australia as an important component of our global market,” said Jim McFarlane, President and CEO of Explorer Software. “Acquiring CSSP has given us a significant footprint in Australia, and we look forward to steady growth in this region.”

In a simultaneous transaction, Explorer Software Group also announced the purchase of a second Australian entity, Kensington Computer Services. Kensington is a leading supplier of hardware, software, and computer services to the construction industry. More info: www.KCS.com.au, http://www.explorer-software.com/news/current-news/default.aspx
