QualCare, Inc. Selects NaviNet Multi-Payer Portal for Secure, Real-Time Electronic Provider Communications

Largest Provider-Owned Managed Care Organization in New Jersey Offers Providers No-Cost, Secure Access to Real-Time Patient-Related Information

BOSTON & PISCATAWAY, N.J.--()--NaviNet, America’s largest real-time healthcare communications network, today announced that QualCare, Inc., New Jersey’s largest provider-owned managed care organization, has selected NaviNet as its exclusive electronic provider communications solution. QualCare will offer NaviNet’s industry-leading multi-payer portal solution to more than 20,000 physicians and healthcare professionals − at no cost − who will use NaviNet Insurer Connect to securely access real-time patient-related information for QualCare’s 750,000 members. QualCare’s deployment of NaviNet will significantly reduce manual work and phone calls related to administrative and financial inquiries.

NaviNet is a secure Web site that gives healthcare providers easy, fast, secure access to patient-related information from multiple health plans. All New Jersey hospitals and approximately 88 percent of physicians, clinicians and healthcare professionals in New Jersey already use NaviNet regularly to communicate with more than a dozen area health plans representing about 95 percent of the state’s insured patients. Because of NaviNet’s high utilization and dominant footprint in the New Jersey and New York markets, QualCare expects rapid adoption and utilization of its NaviNet services. QualCare will also collaborate with NaviNet Deployment and Marketing teams to develop and execute strategic provider communications programs to further boost utilization of the health plan’s NaviNet offering.

“QualCare has committed significant capital to our Web technology to improve the way healthcare providers get important patient information, which will streamline their day-to-day activities and enable them to spend more time focused on delivering high-quality patient care,” said Annette Catino, president and CEO, QualCare, Inc. “Through this partnership, we are able to offer New Jersey-area providers convenient access to the patient information they need via a solution they have come to know and trust.”

“Over the course of the past decade, NaviNet has built the largest health information exchange network in New Jersey. In that state, NaviNet users complete more than a million transactions a month with more than a dozen area health plans,” said Brad Waugh, president and CEO, NaviNet. “We’re pleased to welcome QualCare to the NaviNet Network and are looking forward to the roll-out of the plan’s services, which will make NaviNet even more valuable to the providers that use it every day.”

NaviNet Insurer Connect services for leading health plans nationwide are available today at no cost to physicians and healthcare professionals. In 2011, NaviNet Insurer Connect will be integrated with NaviNet EMR and NaviNet PM, enabling unified patient information management (UPIM) through single-source access to integrated patient information from health plans, providers and other data sources.
