MINNEAPOLIS--()--America has spoken and chosen “Something Blue” as its cake of choice for the upcoming Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton. The innovative culinary team at Betty Crocker designed four show-stopping royal wedding cakes for America to choose from, inspired by the British phrase “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.” Thousands voted for their favorite design and lobbied on BettyCrocker.com and Betty Crocker’s Facebook page for the cake that they felt best fit the new royal couple. After the votes were tallied, “Something Blue” was declared the winner.

“We love the modern look of the ‘Something Blue’ cake,” said Cheryl Welch, Director, Betty Crocker Kitchens and Food Content. “With Will and Kate bringing a fresh approach to both their wedding and the monarchy, we feel it couldn’t be more fitting for this King and Queen in the making.”

All four cake designs can be viewed online at BettyCrocker.com/RoyalWedding, along with a royal wedding viewing party planning guide featuring a downloadable party invitation and party-ready food ideas perfect for the April 29 wedding:

America can watch the live broadcast of the royal wedding beginning at 4 a.m. PST/ 6 a.m. CST/ 7 a.m. EST on April 29.

After the wedding, Betty Crocker will also share tips on how to make a cake inspired by the actual wedding cake that Prince William and Kate Middleton will enjoy with their guests.
