AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Gazzang, Inc., the cloud infrastructure software company, today announced expansion of the company’s leadership team, naming Mike Frank as director of products. In this new role, Frank will be responsible for Gazzang’s product development strategy, including pricing, packaging and competitive positioning of the company’s growing portfolio of solutions.
An open source industry veteran, Frank’s experience spans databases, systems and security management, operating systems, and middleware, including more than 15 commercial products he has helped develop and bring to market.
Most recently Frank was senior product manager at Oracle focused on MySQL in the areas of development (Workbench and Connectors), backup, platforms, virtualization, and authentication. Prior to Oracle, he was responsible for product direction and delivery at Idera, a provider of tools for Microsoft SQL Server, SharePoint and PowerShell management and administration. Frank has also held positions in product management and software development management at PentaSafe Security Technologies, Inc. and NetIQ Corporation, with additional development and consulting experience in the fields of IT security, database management, e-business and trading systems.
“Gazzang is on the forefront of innovation in the infrastructure-as-a-service space,” said Frank. “I’m thrilled to be joining such a talented team in developing enterprise-class solutions for open source stacks and platforms in the cloud.”
“Mike is a seasoned industry veteran and will play a key role in our ability to innovate quickly and better serve our growing customer base,” said Larry Warnock, CEO of Gazzang. “We’re excited to have him on board and to help us deliver an expanding product portfolio.”
Gazzang continues to add customers in the financial services, healthcare, higher education and cloud hosting markets. Earlier this week, the company announced the latest version of its ezNcrypt data security solution with enhanced functionality that includes public/private key encryption and integration with leading hardware security module (HSM) solutions.
Gazzang makes cloud computing enterprise-ready. Our Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) solutions help organizations address the inherent risk associated with open source software tools, beginning with data encryption of MySQL databases and ultimately migrating all the way up the LAMP stack (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP). With focus in financial services, healthcare, higher education and technology, we know what it takes to deliver secure, compliant business services in today’s uncertain cloud environments. Founded in 2008, Gazzang is backed by Austin Ventures, with offices in Houston and Austin, Texas. For more info, visit www.gazzang.com.
